Her adoptive family is made up of an Filipino adoptive mother and an white American soldier. She says she and her adopted brother were subjected to abuse since she was young up until the time she enlisted. The video zoomed in on her jumping rhythmically while lip-syncing to the track became viral. When she first became a member of TikTok and became famous she launched her own YouTube channel, as well as a Twitter account. Poarch hit her highest point of fame in December 2020.
